‘RACCOON’S LAW’ opened this past weekend to adoring fans and visitors intrigued by Wendell McShine’s new work showcased at our Fifty24SF Gallery, San Francisco.  The artist revealed his powerful storytelling capacity to mind bend using basic charcoal, paper and some proper McShine techniques. His narratives embedded within his new body of work, explore ideas of chaos, lawlessness, self rule, and dark consequences that maintain its mystery and interest for us to keep searching for the connections between the dots he displayed for all to see:

The Society presents the Shotgun Cartridge Shooter Glass in honor of the oldest gun club in town, the Pacific Rod & Gun Club. Established in 1934 at Lake Merced, the historic gun club is the last of its kind in San Francisco. It is the only place in town that offers outdoor trap and skeet shooting, permitting the use of shotguns and .22 caliber rifles exclusively.

This age old institution has been a haven for hunters and enthusiasts of the sport of shooting for the last 78 years. Ernest Hemmingway has even shot clay pigeons here. The club is open to the public and all visitors are welcome. Unfortunately, city commissions are threatening the Pacific Rod and Gun Club’s existence at Lake Merced.

Upper Playground’s Heritage Preservation Society in conjunction with the California Historical Society presents the first edition of Barbary Coasters. Culled from a fine assortment of ninteenth century liquor and medicinal advertisements, theater playbills and secret society symbology, the 4-coaster set pays tribute to the debaucherous era of San Francisco. Through rain, wind and sun, ARYZ diligenty climbed into his lift each day for a full 10 days work to complete his giant mural that San Franciscans have been curiously watching through the week.  Fans of Aryz came to watch him develop his large scale mural in the Tenderloin district to observe the master at his work. The mural standing approximately 7-8 stories tall features a young woman silently gazing over the city.  And like many of ARYZ’s signature works, her figure maintains its gravity while her gestures and posture seem mysteriously buoyant and in the midst of slight movement. Located at the corner of Polk Street and Eddy Street we hope the mural will be welcomed by the city and remain up for a long time for all of us to enjoy.
