The founder and creative genius behind 99centbrains, Franky Aguilar, opened his first solo show this week at Fifty24SF Gallery in Lower Haight, San Francisco. 99centbrains, better known in the mobile world as a popular and  innovative leader in developing sticker apps has produced many of them with our favorite artists such as David Choe (Choebot), Alex Pardee (WayCooler), Sam Flores (JungleFever) and also StickUP App for Upper Playground.   99centbrains is also responsible for producing the world famous Snoopify app in collaboration with Snoop Dogg and art by Munk One, Major Lazer’s Lazergram to name a few and continues to lead in its category with apps like Cat Wang, CyberFM and Emoji World.  Taking a short break away from app development,  Aguilar has produced a show reflecting upon digital aesthetics and its short run history.  Sharing his point of view of mashup mixup digital-mania at his first show, CLICK HERE, we are excited to see how this young artist and entrepreneur will expand his career and ambitions.

Upper Playground artist and collaborator, Herbert Baglione continues his long term 1000 Shadows project in Sao Paulo and continues to expand its reach all over the globe. Baglione’s signature shadows that multiply and live amongst us in dark corners and open squares and street corners take on new meaning each time he gives emphasis to a space or location that seemed invisible before.

This is the Final week to go see David Choe’s solo exhibition at Museo Universitario del Chopo in Mexico City, Mexico.  Titled, ‘Snowman Monkey BBQ’, David Choe displays a giant mural, latest watercolor works, paintings, sculptures and more. Show is closing Sunday October 27th!

 

Austria based artist Nychos of the Weird Crew begins a large scale mural in San Francisco today.  Known for his impressive skill in exploded and anatomically dissected subjects in his  illustrations and street art, we can’t wait to see  how this new animal taking shape in the city of San Francisco will turn out to be.  This mural was made possible by Fifty24SF Gallery, Chris Shaher of WallspaceSF and yours truly.
