Mangchi Performs in Downtown Los Angeles for First Live Show
Mangchi (David Choe, Money Mark, Heather Leather and DVDASA Band) debuted in Downtown Los Angeles, playing their first ever live show in front of a capacity crowd. The free performance brought out hundreds of dedicated fans of the band. Be on the lookout for more shows from Mangchi in the near future.

Just announced: David Choe will be at the Upper Playground SF shop this Sunday at 3PM for an in store book signing.
His latest, self published book, ‘Snowman Monkey BBQ‘ will be available in store and online during the event.
“This Sunday October 26th I will be signing@upperplayground in San Francisco, 3pm till it’s over – the first gallery to ever give me an art show and has supported my art for Almost 2 decades. The books are almost all gone and I’ve never reprinted any of my books. I self published a book #snowmanMonkeyBBQ I will do only 2 or 3 signings.This Sunday in SF, will be my first one- if you already bought it , bring it over and I’ll sign it. “I always thought that the most difficult thing of painting in big formats was too keep the line gesture and the proportions like in the sketches. My sketches have a lot of mistakes and random lines, and somehow I wanted to reproduce that on a wall. The more effects and colors you use on your work, the more you can hide the mistakes and catch the viewer’s attention… when you use the line and not much more, the mistakes can be easily seen…” -Aryz

Japanese illustrator and calligraphist, Usugrow who opened his solo show ‘INKFLOW’ at Fifty24SF Gallery this past weekend just completed a second wall at Upper Playground, San Francisco. Titled ‘ Talking with Moon’ the wide mural with sloped repeat patterns of the letter ‘I” has the meaning of the ”Eye” and the self ‘I” spreading out from the corner ‘Moon’.
