“SNOWMAN MONKEY BBQ is my first art exhibition in almost 4 years. why haven’t i shown in so long? I been percolatin’ i was busy destroying myself like any decent artist. 4 years of falling deep into addiction, heartbreak, rejoicing , discovery , recovery , hallucinogenics, worship and ignorant idiotic prophecies manifest and explode into a strange reality that I myself can’t comprehend, it will encompass murals, sculptures , watercolors , oil, mixed media and if you’re lucky and I’m fucked off this mezcal , maybe some performance art too! It is an honor to display my work in one of my most favorite places in the world , Mexico City! (I’m eating a sweetbread taco and typing this with one hand right now) at the Museo Universitario del Chopo http://www.chopo.unam.mx/exposiciones/davidchoe.html if you’re in town saturday , august 17th come check it out . Master of surrealist sci-fi illustration and one of the illest, new graffiti artists originating from Mexico, SMITHE ONE, always knows his subjects inside and out. The new Santisima Tee by Smithe One for Upper Playground is a prime example of his wit, style and technique that makes us want to put our hands together and say ‘Amen.’
Wendell McShine’s new solo show, RACCOON’S LAW is described by the artist as the following:
“The Raccoon reminds one to take an introspective gaze into the mask being worn, within a delicate balance of give and take. Dramatically dusty charcoal drawings captivates a whimsical fantasy of control and freedom that lingers beyond our imagination.”

Upper Playground artist Herbert Baglione’s new solo exhibition titled OBITUARY recently opened in Mexico city at our Fifty24MX Gallery. The show includes new works by the Sao Paulo artist with unique hexagonal canvases (including some painted with his own blood), photos of Projecto Negro by Fabio Stachi and larger canvases in Herbert’s style of rendering bodies in motion, afloat with delicate details of intricate and mystical objects that surround and warp them.
